Our Community Project

I decided to choose this project because I love animals. I was having trouble deciding in the beginning, but the idea was always in the back of my mind. I have always wanted to donate to the animal shelter, but never had the chance. But this was my chance.
As I found information, I understood that this is actually an issue that needs a lot more publicity than it has. Did you know that 70% percent of all cats in animal shelters don't leave the shelter alive? This is a huge problem, and the more I read about it, the more of a serious issue it seems to be.
I found that there were many problems while working on this project. The main problem though, was time. There were not many days that we could meet up, so we had to meet very close to the deadline. But we planned ahead, which helped us a lot. Another problem we faced was that many people had "no soliciting'' signs, so we could not sell our muffins to a lot of houses, reducing the amount of money we were able to donate.
This project relates greatly to the theme "Make a Difference". We made a difference in our community be saving the lives of animals that needed it. We hope that they can use the money to buy more supplies, so the animals live happier, healthier lives and do not have to be euthanized.
